TINY STEP PROGRAM
Take your first dance steps with us!

JS DANCE CENTRE has designed an excellent program of Dance activities to give young children a chance to experience the joy of dancing and creative movement in a fun and loving atmosphere.

Our staff use music, props, costumes and creative movement to introduce children to the wonderful world of dance.

We are committed to providing a stimulating and adventurous environment to enhance each childs social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative growth.

TINY TOTS (3 - 4yrs)

This very popular 1 hour program for 3 - 4 year olds gives the younger dancer an inroduction to Classical Ballet, Jazz and Tap in one class!
Students develop rhythm, coordination, musicality and creativity, as well as the ability to follow directions, interact with peers, take turns patiently and gain self-confidence.
These skills will be utilised in a dance routine, which is performed in our exciting end of year concert. Which is held Term 4.
This term is dedicated to the end of year cocnert only. Those that wish not to be involved classes end Term 3.

Most importantly, our classe are FUN!

HAPPY FEET (5 - 6 yrs)

As your child progresses they move onto their Happy Feet program where coordination, musicality, flexibility and body awareness will be challenged.

This 1 1/2 hour class divides Ballet, Jazz and Tap into 30 minute sessions. This focuses on each dance forms syllabus and technique. The student at this level begins to decide which styles they prefer to follow in later classes.

Students at this level start to be introduced and prepared for their "Primary" Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) Classical Ballet examinations.
Students will be invited by Jane Stanley to participate in the RAD Examinations held in May.

* Parents settle their child and then leave so class can commence.
The last class of term is an OPEN class. Parents are invited to see their childs progress.

BOPPERS (7 - 8yrs)

At JS Dance Centre our students within this program have come out of their Tiny Steps program and have a better idea of what dance forms they love and how much dance they would like to do.
The Boppers Program is divided into 4 levels to cater for all varing options.

The FULL BOPPERS Program
is a 2 1/2 hour class - 1 hour of Ballet and Jazz with 1/2 hour Tap in between.  If your child is participating in the RAD Classical Ballet Exam an extra ballet class is compulsory for these students, for Term 1 only.

Our REC BOPPERS Program

are students that just want to be involved in either Ballet, Hip Hop or Tap. We time table and offer a 1/2 hour  Tap class in between each Ballet or Jazz class if students want a little bit of toe tapping before or after their preferred class.

DANCE MAX BOPPERS Performance & Eisteddfod Groups

These students have a real love of dance and are invited by Jane Stanley to par take in Performance and Eisteddfod Groups.
This introduces them to performance with learned choreography with our Junior Eisteddfod Group. They must attend their full Boppers Program, do an extra RAD Ballet Class (1st Term only), and the Dance Max Boppers Eisteddfod Group class held on Saturday mornings.

Eisteddfod Groups are entered into competitions during the June and July period. Extra classes and rehearsals can be added and extra costs for costumes may be asked for.

* Before parents and students make this commitment to join our Dance Max Program,
we make every effort to be completely upfront about all expenses and time commitments involved in participating.

DANCE MAX

All students must have a good attendance record and postive, supportive attitude during class, as well as during competitions and community performances.
It is the goal of our DANCE MAX program to develop each dancer to an advanced level and instill a passion for performing, rather than merely the desire to just win awards.
JS DANCE CENTRE believes there are valuable lessons to be learned through competiitions, community performances and intensive training.
Students are taught to think intelligently and creatively about movement rather than just about steps.
Dancers are motivated to reach their fullest potential and accomplish an advanced level of training.
Students will have the option to compete in many different styles of dance either within a group or as a soloist.
they participate in Eisteddfod Competitions and perform at Community and Charity Events.
